Our Story

SIFA owner, LaRae Parker, always has had a passion for fashion! She started making kid couture out of her town home in Jacksonville, FL using techniques she learned working on an industrial level, sewing mass merchandise for distribution.

What started out as a hobby in 2014 teaching youth to sew and design, she realized by growing this concept and implementing her self published workbook series called "Teach Me How To Sew" she could offer full courses that can teach even the most beginner sewers how to make garments they were proud of.

Now in becoming SIFA, LaRae can offer not only skills to sewing enthusiast but also a full curriculum of professional fashion design courses that get students to realize their entrepreneurial goals.

Message from Owner

I believe there's a story behind every piece of clothing. Today we dream of creating a mark of our own. Students want more than a sewing class to make a project, they want to enter the world of fashion design and the sewing industry!

The sewing industry has made a major comeback in the U.S.A. and is one of the oldest crafts in the world. Its known to be more so associated with apparel (clothing) but not limited to. Sewing is used in upholstery, hair, sail making, shoe making & book binding, just to name a few. The sky is the limit when it comes to sewing!

The Sewing & Fashion Designer skill development programs are the 1st of what we hope to become many programs at SEW INNOVATIVE for individuals who share similar passion or vision. Soon to be in our new space, come enjoy a happy place! Bring your artistic vision and perseverance and SEW INNOVATIVE will help develop the skills to take you to the next level. SEW INNOVATIVE will create a deep pool of resources for our students to draw from long after their time with us.

Can't wait to meet you!
